Going On Holiday
Types Of Holiday
Holiday is a time to reconnect with ourselves, relax, and get away from it all, but perhaps lounging by the beach drinking mojitos and catching rays is not your idea of a good time. You need action! Adventure! You need a trip that is going to raise your adrenaline level through the roof and get your blood pumping through your veins. Adventure holidays are a great way to go if you’ve had enough downtime. Three adventure holidays sure to please, including mountain climbing, windsurfing, and whitewater rafting.
If you are looking to go on a romantic getaway that is a little more adult, you are talking about an adult vacation. There are many options to choose from in regards to an adult vacation, and depending of course on the basic location you would like to travel to, the amount of money you are willing to spend, and most importantly your own personal preference, the options can be narrowed down in order to find the perfect adult vacation getaway spot for you.
Many travel agencies and websites will offer different vacation packages that will sometimes include hotel accommodations, airfare, car rentals and show tickets. Are these vacation packages offering you a discount? I decided to find a few vacation package offers both on the web and through a travel agency that tickled my fancy. Then I jumped on the web myself to see if I could put something together that was similar but better in price.
But what exactly are all-inclusive holidays? The goal behind all-inclusive holidays is to provide the travel with a one-stop shop, and they include several different aspects of the traveling experience in one, all-inclusive package. With your reservation and payment, you often purchase a package that includes your food or admission to shows that type of thing. Examples of all-inclusive holidays include Sandals Caribbean Resorts, cruises, etc.
Still Stuck For Ideas?
So you are ready to take a break but still cannot make up your mind where you want to go, and what exactly you want to do. Everyone in the family has his/her own wish for this year’s vacation and you find impossible to please them all. Well, here is an idea worth considering, take an all-inclusive vacation on a cruise ship.
Bargain/Cheap Holidays
It is tempting to read low price offers of bargain holidays in advertisements by travel agents, but before you dart for a deal with the agent, make sure what you are getting is not a sham. Several bargain holiday ads advertised as special offers are not available for the price shown but higher ones, or they might not be available at all, doing away with your excitement. You come to know that the advertised price of the package excludes certain expenses like transport fares between the destination airport and the dwelling place, meals during the travel, and insurance. The Trading Standards Services of Britain found a number of cases where the actual price charged was £20 to £100 more than the advertised price of the package. It is important, therefore, to be wary of some points before buying an advertised holiday package.
Cheap holidays are always in demand since we all need to keep as many of our bucks pocketed as possible. It is interesting to compare the two types of holidays, package holidays and DIY (Do It Yourself) holidays, in terms of cost to decide which one is cheaper. In a package holiday, you do not book your own holiday but do it through someone like a travel agent who gets you the services of a tour operator. This type of holiday is an all-in-one deal. You have to pay the money and everything about your holiday (getting there, boarding, lodging etc.) is arranged for you. On the other hand, it is getting common now to arrange a DIY holiday on the web. You do booking of all your holiday needs, like travel and accommodation by yourself.
What About Your Pets?
A holiday is a family occasion, bringing joy and gathering of family members, including pets, but there is a flip side of the coin: possible harm to your pet. In all the bustle that comes with a typical American holiday planning, party arrangements, preparations for picnics, shopping, and rushing about pets not only fall a prey to neglect, but also suffer serious injuries and disease. Special care needs to be taken for the health of your pets on holidays like Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, and other days of festivity.

Going on holiday to Mexico, is there anything that we should be careful of in Mexico?
Me and a couple of mates are going to Mexico in 2 weeks time and we are from England, so we are not sure how to deal with South American countries i.e. Mexico, so is there anything we should be careful of when travelling around the country? Also are there any particular areas and sites in Mexico we should visit? We are planning on visiting different places while there. Also we wanna try out some traditional Mexican food too.

As they say, there is safety in numbers. Don`t let your guard down and don`t do anything you wouldn’t in England.
I live in Canada and have not surrendered my British Passport in favor of a Canadian one yet.
I have entered Mexico for 40 years with my UK passport and I think if you look for trouble you will find it.
Pickpockets got me once. I lost a few documents and only 10 pound.
Don`t let the media reports affect you , Mexico is a great place with some wonderful people/ check um out , you won`t be dissapointed.

Hey, Mexico is rather laid back! Just act like you would in any large city and you should be fine. Dont be flashy, alone, or drunk all the time. If I was you i would visit the beaches, the aztec ruins, and local shops.
One word of warning, if possible use a credit card, carry some cash but make sure you dont flash it. Let your bank know that you are going on the trip so they wont freeze your card. Drink bottled water (tho you can use tap to brush your teeth and such)!
Oh! btw Mexico is in North America, or Latin America not South America.
Believe me by the end of the two weeks you will have eaten authentic Mexican food.

Hi, I´m italian, but I have been living in Mexico since 2002 and it is a wonderful place to live, to travel around and to know it food. As a country Mexico has a lot of issues, such as drugs, but these problems are located in certain areas like Tijuana or Ciudad Juarez, But mexican government is worried about it and the important cities like Mexico City, Monterrey, or touristic places like Cancun, Acapulco or other touristic areas is very safe.
For example if you visit Mexico City I recommend you to stay in a Hotel in Reforma area, that´s the most beautifully zone of the city; there are a lot of restaurants, boutiques, historic places like Zocalo or Aztec ruins, colonial places like Coyoacán or Metropolitan cathedral, SHOPPING places, museums that show mexican culture and history like anthropology museum, museo del castillo de chapultepec, museo de frida kahlo and malls with the best boutiques in world. it is a great METROPOLIS.
If you like to visit beaches i recommend you Cancun, which is i the south part of Mexico located in the caribbean, this is a beautiful pace with clear water, great hotels, shopping malls, night clubs and they also have a thematic park called Xel.ha, where they show you part of the mayan culture and you also interact with sea animals like Dolphins
You also may visit Acapulco or Los Cabos, which are other beautiful beaches.
If you want to live real mexican culture and experience you also may visit Oaxaca, a state in south mexico with great food, and crafts.
I am sure you will enjoy your visit to mexico, it is a wonderful country with a lot of culture, history and places to visit.
Only as recommendations avoid using taxis from the street, in every hotel, restaurant or place where you are ask for a "taxi de sitio", they are a Little more expensive, but they are very safe. And when you try mexican food do not eat a lot of chili, because as european, we are not used to food so spicy and you may sick .but try it, it is Delicious.

Mind the tourist-traps.
Try to exercise care when you are approached by street vendors, particularly in the well-known tourist beaches like Acapulco or Cancun. They sometimes take advantage of your ignorance on what a reasonable price for an article would be, and try to overcharge you. Don’t flash your money around, and be alert at night. No need for paranoia, just don’t lose your common sense.
We generally like the English, but as a country we don’t quite get along with the Americans. Don’t be surprised if you find a little misplaced prejudice here and there.
Having given you those words of warning….. I think you’ll really like it here.
You definitely, definitely have to spend some time in the capital. Mexico City is incredibly rich in its culture (it boasts the honor of being the city with the most museums in the world), and you should take advantage. You’ll get along quite well, as you’ll probably find lots of English-speakers. You need to visit the historic part of downtown (eat at Café Tacuba), Chapultepec (which is a forest and an area with many museums), and Xochimilco (The lake. Eat from one of the kitchen-boats or visit the marketplace). Other than that, go ahead and explore.
If you want real mexican cuisine you can’t stay in restaurants (good as they are). You can trust the small local places, even if they aren’t impeccable. You’d have to have very bad luck to end up in a bad one. A sign of quality: look for places that are very full. Tap water is not for drinking, due to its high chemical content, but it’s safe for cleaning yourself, washing, that kind of thing.
You want to be careful at night, though, and stay clear of Tepito.
If you’re the adventurous types, you want to go to the southern states near the peninsula (Chiapas, Yucatán, Quintana Roo). There you’ll find some of the most beautiful natural riches of the country, and also get an excellent chance to experience true Mexican culture. Be sure to bring someone who’s fully bilingual: you’ll find less English speakers there. Visit the Riviera Maya for incredible beaches, historic sites, and views of the jungle. Cozumel has excellent snorkeling sites. In Chiapas, if you find a good guide, you can actually go into the jungle a little. It’s impossibly beautiful.
Mexican dishes you have to try:
tamales
pozole
chilaquiles
gorditas (my favorites are filled with chicharrón)
carnitas
quesadillas (real ones, not the fake taco bell kind)
barbacoa (delicious sheep meat cooked in a very complex, traditional way)
atole (a hot, sweet drink that comes in many flavors)
hot chocolate
pan de elote (sweet corn bread)
You most definitely have to go to a market and try the fruit. It is unlike anything you’ve tasted before. As always, wash before eating. Enjoy the free samples offered by the vendors with no commitment.
If you’re brave:
tacos de lengua (it’s meat that comes from cow tongue. Sounds disgusting, but it is actually very soft, lean muscle. Try it.)
chapulines (Small grasshoppers. Usually roasted with chili, lemon and salt. Interesting snacks. Love them or hate them.)

Well, Mexico isn´t part of South America, it´s part of North America, don´t be fooled by Americans =/ . Mexico is a great country to visit, great beaches, wonderful cities, awesome landscapes, everything here is very good. Just take care If you are in Tijuana, Juarez City or Mexico City (those are the only dangerous cities). I recommend you to visit Guadalajara, Cancun, the Mayan Riviera, Monterrey, Acapulco, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Merida and Puebla. The Mexican food is also very good, you should taste the famous tacos, but here are a lot better than in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Well, Mexico is in the North American continent, so no need to concern yourself about South American countries. Not like there was anything to concern yourself about regarding South American countries to begin with though.
As for safety, as long as you stay away from the border towns near the Mexico-U.S. border, you should be fine. As for sites, there are lots of historical sites such as ruins and whatnot. Mexico City is massive, Oaxaca is quite nice, Acapulco, Cozumel, Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Monterrey, Guadalajara, and elsewhere. As for traditional Mexican food, like in all countries, Mexican food varies from region to region. There’s a wide variety. What may be popular and known in Northern Sonora, and hence known in the U.S. Southwest, will not be as popular or well known in say Veracruz.
