Payless Car Rental Las Vegas Airport - Appeal Damage Charge

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Be Fair, should I response for the damage?

When the car was returned to the Payless Car Rental, an inspector found a tiny crash spot on passage’s side of the windshield; it’s about 1/8 inches in diameter. I was so surprised, this looked like a rock or a hard object heavily hit on the windshield when driving on highway. But I neither drove on highway during my stay in Las Vegas, nor there was a stone or hard object hit on the windshield during my usage of the car. I then reviewed the video I took before I drove the car from the Payless Rental parking lot. I then realized that there was a white spot showing on the windshield on the video, even though it’s at night and the parking lot was so dark, but the crash was visible by freezing the video around the 28th seconds, or frame number 429.

Please check out the picture captured from the video, the crash spot was circled in red, and see attached.

The reason I took the video for the car, because Payless Car Rental gave me a heavily used car, I can see a lot of scratches or spots on the body and car from the video, so I was afraid that they will probably come after me about the car’s condition when I return the car, it then really happened; I was forced to sign and commit the damage of the car during my usage, otherwise they would not close the leasing of the car.

There was another reason I videotaped the car, I never ever video tape a rental car before. I wanted to use my own GPS system in the car, and I realized the cigarette light was not able to power up my GPS, I then asked the clerk if he could help me figure out how to use that. And he told me that the cigarette light was not functional anymore. I had a perception that they didn’t list out what were not functional or damaged, and may come after me when I return the car, and I could be easily trapped by this if I didn’t inspect it carefully. Lucky enough, I asked them for cigarette lighter, otherwise I need to response for the damage when I returned the car. I asked them for another car because the car condition was very bad, but they said, they didn’t have any compact car left, they had a big van available only. Don’t be ridiculous, there were some many compact cars on the parking lot; look at the video I took, there were so many cars around. I didn’t need a van; I attended the Consumer Electronic Show there in Las Vegas, I only need a small car for using two days in local. I reserved the compact car two weeks ago prior to my arrival in Las Vegas on Jan 9, 2008. If you didn’t have decent condition cars to rent, please don’t take my reservation then, I could book my car in the other car rental company. Such bad condition car shouldn’t be rented out to customer.

When I took this car in the Payless Car Rental parking lot, there were so many white spots on the windshield and scratches all around the body because the car was heavily beat up. It was definitely very hard to exam each white spot on windshield by eye at night (when I took the car, it was 11:30PM, and the light is very dim), and there were so many. I had videotaped the car by Canon camera, which it has a pretty good night vision video captured, you can see the crash (white spot) vividly. My conclusion is, it is not my responsibility for the damage; the crash was there before I took the car.

5 Reasons Renting a Limo is the Best Option for a Night on the Town

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

So the big night finally arrives; your dress is flawless, your hair and makeup done to perfection, and you’re ready to have one of the best nights of your life. Walking out you have to make sure you have your keys, and having to debate who’s going to be stuck with driving, wondering if you have the right directions. You have to stop and think, “Why are we going through all this hassle? We should have just rented a limo.” Limos are a great option for any night out on the town and really makes sense when you take into account safety and logistics.

Drinking and driving is one of the fastest way to hurt yourself along with putting innocent victims at risk. A death is caused by a drunk driver every 40 minutes on average. Renting a limo allows everyone the chance to go out and have a good time. No one has to sit out and be the designated driver so there is no fuss and nobody feeling left out. And this is fully insuring everyone on the roads can travel safely.

Renting a limo also eases your mind about knowing where the event is located. You won’t have to worry about directions or the best route to take to get there. You can sit back and let someone else worry about that and start enjoying yourself much earlier. Run into heavy traffic you’ll never notice as you talk with all the guests. Another benefit to the limo is that parking will not be an issue. Front door service is great and makes the choice of jacket or no jacket much easier.

You have done all the planning from your hair to your dress to where to eat. Go the extra step and rent a limo to make a special night out on the town into something memorable. Being pampered and taken care of fully by a professional limo service will be a treat for all your guests. After a night out on the town or get together it’s the small touches that stand out in the future days and weeks. Limo service will be that special touch that is remembered and appreciated.

Part of going out on the town is getting noticed. Who gets noticed more than celebrities? Going down the road people will be wondering who is in the limo. And once the doors open, everyone will be checking out you and your group. Everyone will feel like a celebrity and be fully ready to strut their stuff when you reach your destination. Not everyone can be a celebrity but for one night, you can assure that everyone feels like one going out in a limo.

Using a limo service also allows everyone to be in one car together. This may not seem like such a big deal but when you are having a diverse group of people together, most of the bonding happens right off the bat and you don’t want to deprive anyone of that opportunity. No one has to feel put out that they had to drive and can just relax and enjoy the ride. Also, you have to think about parking multiple cars and the headache that can entail. Not only the headache has to be taken into account but one has to think of the expense of gas and most downtowns only offer paid parking. A limo really does cut out all the headaches of multiple cars.

Looking at all the benefits of renting a limo for a night out on the town why would you not do it. Yes, it is an added expense but it’s one of those luxuries in life that is well worth it. When you add in all the benefits, safety of your group and other motorists, easy navigation, one car verses multiple cars, you can still make it a memorable evening and come out feeling like a celebrity. Why would you not do it ?

What is Auto Insurance?

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Auto insurance protects you against financial loss if you have an accident. It is a contract between you and the insurance company. You agree to pay the premium and the insurance company agrees to pay your losses as defined in your policy.

Auto insurance provides property, liability and medical coverage:

* Property coverage pays for damage to or theft of your car.

* Liability coverage pays for your legal responsibility to others for bodily injury or property damage.
* Medical coverage pays for the cost of treating injuries, rehabilitation and sometimes lost wages and funeral expenses.

How is your auto insurance policy price determined?

The average auto insurance policy price is derived from a variety of factors.

Many of these variables are common knowledge and make sense for the most part.

it’s always a good idea to refresh yourself with what insurance companies are looking for when determining how much your coverage will cost.

*Driving Record
*Coverage Amount
*Age
*Vehicle Model and Driving Mileage
*Your Residence

What auto insurance coverage?

What types of auto insurance coverage to choose from?

*Liability: coverage is the primary – and usually mandatory – part of the auto insurance equation. Liability means what the word implies: it saves your bank balance when you’re liable for destroying someone else’s car or body parts.
*collision: which is not to be confused with liability. Liability pays the bills for damage you cause to the other party; collision covers damage done to your own car. If someone else totals it, his liability pays for repairs (assuming he doesn’t hit and run), so if you can follow the aforementioned tip of not crashing, you generally shouldn’t need collision. In simplified terms, buying collision insurance can be thought of paying someone to save you from yourself. The safer you drive, the less necessary it becomes.
*Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, required by most states, is always a good idea knowing that 17% of drivers out there don’t have any insurance, and a lot of the rest probably skimp by on the sometimes-inadequate state minimums. This usually varies in tandem with the body injury part of liability. Don’t sweat it too much, as the premium is a mere fraction of liability.
*Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or Medical Payments (MedPay) provides reimbursement for medical bills of you and your passengers regardless of who’s at fault, and for resulting lost wages. This is an option – one that those with good health insurance plans might not want to exercise.
*Rental reimbursement simply pays for the cost of renting a car. Even if it costs $30 a year, why bother? $30 basically buys a one-day car rental, so it’s hardly worth it unless you get stranded a lot. (In which case, you might want to switch cars.) If you own a second car, this is completely unnecessary. The same reasoning applies to towing insurance and the like.
*GAP insurance, which covers the difference between what the car is actually worth and what you owe. This might be an attractive proposition for a car that with heavy depreciation, which is a symptom suffered by young cars in general. A $20,000 car might drop to $12,000 in market value after a year. If you total the car at that point, $12,000 is all you’ll get from your insurance company, yet you’re still obligated to the $16,000 in payments that still remains. Obviously, $4,000 is one gap you’ll want closed.

Can you raise or lower your auto insurance rate?

There are 10 factors that can raise or lower auto insurance rates

*Your Age
Generally younger drivers are considered to be high risk and so the insurance rates are higher.
*The make of your car
Most insurance companies tabulate auto insurance rates based on the make of the vehicle. Compact cars and sedans have lower rates while sports models, exotic cars, and SUVs are assigned high rates of premium.
*Gender is a factor too
Females get lower rates of auto insurance while males pay higher auto insurance premiums.
*Financial stability
Auto owners with great credit scores and credit reports generally pay lower premiums than those with bad credit scores and reports.
*Driving records have a say in premiums payable
If a driver has a clean driving record for three consecutive years then auto insurance providers will happily extend policies with lower premiums.
*Where you stay
Those who live in the city pay more than individuals who live in the country or suburbs. Areas with lower crime rates and less congestion attract lower auto insurance premium rates.
*How many insurance policies you hold
If you approach for auto insurance the same insurance company that has you covered for life, health, hone and so on then you would automatically be eligible for great discounts on premiums payable for an auto insurance policy.
*The condition of the car will be considered before offering a policy
The make, how old the vehicle is, its maintenance, and so on. A car in prime condition will get better premium rates than a rattletrap.
*The distance traveled per year
If you restrict the number of miles traveled then you will be able to get auto insurance at lower rates. To do this you need to walk, use public transport, and car pool.
*Whether or not you are eco-friendly
If you care for the environment and drive a non polluting vehicle then the auto insurance premiums will be lower.

Why do you need international vehicle insurance?

If you live in a foreign country for an extended period it is important to ensure that your vehicle is properly insured at all times. International vehicle insurance is specially designed to meet the needs of:

* Diplomats.
* Expatriates.
* Humanitarian organizations.
* International businesses.
* International charities.
* International schools.
* Religious orders.
* United Nations agencies.

International Vehicle Insurance should include cover for:

* Accidental damage, fire and theft risks.
* Protection against windscreen breakage and for fitted accessories such as audio equipment.
* Additional protection against riot, civil commotion, hijacking and armed robbery.
* Hurricanes, earthquakes and flooding.
* Payment of the purchase price for a seriously damaged or stolen car that is less than 12 months old (on Non-commercial Policies only).
* Immediate cover anywhere in the world (except the USA and Canada).
* Multiple vehicle and fleet discounts.

Can your age be a problem in auto insurance?

In auto insurance know as the age factor.
Your age can be a big problem in auto insurance. It could also be a great advantage. Whichever group you fall into, there’s a way for you to make the most remarkable savings in your auto insurance premium.

*If you’re above fifty-five thank your stars. You’ve entered the hallowed zone in auto insurance. If you don’t get pampered by an auto insurance provider now, you never will. This is because you belong to an age group that has a high reputation of road safety.
*If you’re under-25, you’re considered a very high risk as far as auto insurance is concerned. Yes, if you’re in your early twenties you’ll be better off than a teenager. However, you still are a high risk group.There are several options open to you.
-You can get married if you are old enough and it makes sense in your circumstance. I’m not kidding here. Marriage does reduce the perception of risk auto insurance providers have of you.
-Another thing you can do as an under-25 is to be on your parent’s auto insurance policy.

Why is Women’s auto Insurance So Much Cheaper Than Men’s?

Statistically, women drivers are the safest on roads, and therefore are rewarded with cheaper premiums for car insurance. Women on Wheels combines these discounts with supreme cover, that automatically includes a free replacement car (on comprehensive), free abroad travel, and free legal cover!

Oklahoma City Entertainment

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Tourists to any city look forward to spending an enjoyable time, mainly to relieve themselves from a hectic work schedule. Oklahoma City entertainment facilities are major factors that contribute to the city’s popularity among visitors.

For those who love the arts, the artist community of Paseo Arts District would be ideal. This historic area was once a shopping district, built in 1929. You will find 17 galleries or working studios, restaurants and bars. There is also the monthly gallery walk called “First Friday” that features wine tasting, live music and artistic demonstrations.

For high speed thrills and real excitement, Pole Position Raceway at NW 36th and May Avenue is a wonderful option. This is not a racetrack for open wheeled racers or sports cars, but for high speed go-karts. This indoor arena offers real racing excitement for those who drive and the spectators. Whether you are a fan of racing or not, you will never fail to get revved up here with the pulsating sound of the engines, the tires that squeal on the concrete floor, and the sheer air piercing go-karts traveling at 45 miles an hour electrifying the atmosphere. Following each race you can get an assessment of your performance. The best part is that you can rent the entire raceway for a private party or family gathering, or set up a group race with friends.

For wholesome entertainment for the kids, try the mini-golf courses at Celebration Station. Even adults can enjoy a game at any of the 3 varied and challenging full 18-hole miniature golf courses here.

White Water Bay in Oklahoma City is where you can enjoy some great water-based excitement. It features 25 acres of rides, slides, pools and everything you could possibly imagine. Some of the highlights of the park include the Mega-Wedgie six-story-tall slide, the Big Kahuna tube ride and the Castaway Creek where you could float leisurely.

These and plenty of other attractions add to the great variety of Oklahoma City entertainment options. A trip to the Bricktown entertainment district would throw up a world of excitement as well.

Current Trends for Real Estate in Texas

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

As far as current trends in real estate go, it appears that Texas is destined to have a strong housing economy over the next few years.  The city of Killeen, TX for instance is ranked the fifth least expensive when it comes to the national housing market average.  The current trend for Texas real estate consists of cities throughout the state competing with the national average.  It’s been mentioned time and time again by professionals that Texas real estate is filled with residential advancements.

Central Texas especially competes against the national market average.  There are over 100,000 residents in the Killeen and Fort Hood areas, many of which are military families.  Civilian families rely heavily on the military and their families.  New housing units are being built all the time for military families to live in.  They can choose to rent or purchase.  Needless to say, it’s a trend for those interested in real estate investing to invest in these housing units.  They receive steady income from the influx of military families heading for that area each year.

Another real estate trend in Texas is investing in properties near rodeos and other recreational areas.  Imagine all the money one could make by charging rental fees or parking fees every time the rodeo or circus comes to town.

Considering there are numerous colleges and Universities throughout Texas, one trend is to buy apartment complexes near the campuses and to rent them out to the students.

And as for those who would just prefer to live in Texas, and that have no interest in investing for business purposes, there are new homes being built all the time throughout the state.  Thanks to a steady economy in the Lonestar State, new, affordable homes are going to be available for some time to come.

Limousine Rental: Top Money Saving Tips

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

Want to save money when renting a limousine but make sure you still get your value for your dollar? Here are some quick tips on how to get the best bang for your buck.

Tip 1) Always shop around, make sure to call at least three companies when you are booking a limousine to see which company will give you the best rate. When you do get a quoted rate from a company make sure to get it in writing.

Tip 2) Remember that the lowest rate may be given to you but it may be because the company is giving you their oldest worn out vehicles, make sure to ask the operator the year of the car and if they have any pictures available (if you are very concerned ask to see the vehicle in person)

Tip 3) Ask for an hourly rate and then ask what price break you can be given on multiple hours, most companies will have a two hour minimum, and more during the busy graduation and wedding seasons.

Tip 4) Ask to speak to the manager or owner, this is key in getting the best rate. Then ask if they have an "industry" rate available. This is the rate that club promoters and nightclub owners usually get. Typically 10 percent off.

Tip 5) Remember to check the companies with the smaller advertising banners, these are usually owner/operator type companies and the owner can give you a good rate because they have less overhead than the big companies do.

Well good luck shopping for the best rates on a Limousine remember to be polite and firm on the phone.
