Keep in mind that even though you are on vacation, it can’t hurt to shop around for the best deals. Especially now that this can be done simply from your hotel room or even from home before you leave, there’s no reason to settle for the first offer you find.

And shopping around really does make a difference! It may seem that most likely American car rentals would all be fairly similar in price and terms, but this is simply not the case. You will see quite a range of different offers, so it’s worthwhile to look at a few sites.

Another thing you will find is that there are many deals and promotions available online. Either there will be a listing of specials you can take advantage of or a voucher for an upgrade that you can print out. Also, keep in mind that weekly rates and weekends are generally cheaper than just booking a few days during the week.

If you are using a travel agency, they might also be able to get you a special rate when booking your airfare, hotel and car rental all together.
